How Gino Sheffield D'Acampo managed to turn his life around?

[edit]

The article fails to address how Gino D'Acampo managed to turn his life around after leaving prison in 2000, to being a celebrity television chef within the space of a few years. DynamoDegsy (talk) 16:33, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There is also a significant neglect of his early TV performances. I failed to find a single mention of Ready, Steady, cook. I know that Wikipedia contains many American editors, so I understand if knowledge on Gino's UK activity seems confusing, but, Ready, Steady, Cook was a famous show- one of our most famous cooking shows. I have not edited on Wikipedia for a while so can not remember all your processes for validating sources and so on, so maybe someone could add the info, but he appeared on later episodes of Ready, Steady, Cook with some frequency. You can find a lot of the episodes on Youtube, uploaded by Endemol themselves. I am not sure of the exact date (I had no idea he had been to prison but the date should still easily be worked out as late 2000's.) but he appeared during Ainsley Harriot's reign, typically cooking pasta all the time, and so on. This must have been close to when he started appearing on This Morning, but, seeing as one is ITV and one BBC, I wonder if it was slightly before. Thanks

Middle Name

[edit]

I have just noticed an edit that was made adding the middle name 'Sheffield' was reverted. However on the episode of Celebrity Juice that has just aired, Gino signed a legal contract making his middle name Sheffield.

Prison stretch

[edit]

I have added a short section on D'Acampo's time in prison, which was previously mentioned on the page, but which curiously had been removed. Over zealous PR people? Stronach (talk) 17:28, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Celebrity juice paragraph in career

[edit]

A sentence should be added saying that he changed his name legally to add Sheffield as a middle name to win points on the show after a running gag about him supposedly pretending to be Italian and actually from Sheffield. A reference for this would be easy to find and tells people why he has Sheffield as a middle name — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:464E:7400:45EF:BAA4:6F9A:4D14 (talk) 22:33, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Danski454 (talk) 13:07, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Activity on Italian television

[edit]

Gino D'Acampo now hosts two TV shows on Italian TV, more specifically on NOVE (a Discovery owned network): these shows are called "Restaurant Swap - Cambio ristorante" and "Gino cerca chef" (literally Gino is looking for a chef). Sources:

No mention at all of his Ready Steady Cook appearances?

[edit]

I first remember Gino from the late 90's as a regular guest chef on ready steady cook. 81.99.185.183 (talk) 16:59, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that all appearances UK TV shows that are not on ITV have been removed. Certainly PR people doing their work here. 86.15.80.185 (talk) 15:47, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
